We are invaded and overrun by delusional paranoid Republican converts to a cult of gun death, mass murder and fear. Republican leaders refuse to admit the fact that we Americans all share this vast country and all of us need to figure out how to keep one another and our children alive. That seems like a minimum definition of a nation.
Yet the GOP, NRA and gun makers refuse to even admit that. A GOP-controlled federal court this month struck down a California law that set the age limit for purchasing semiautomatic weapons at 21. GOP “judges” are merchants of death. Trump, Ted Cruz of Texas, Kristi Noem of South Dakota and Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson of NC all spoke at the National Rifle Association in Houston a few hours’ drive from Uvalde in a sickening manifestation of the gun lobby’s total capture of the GOP and the American CULT OF DEATH.
There have been 213 mass shootings in the United States in the first 21 weeks of 2022. An average of 321 Americans are shot every single day. And every day, there are more than 50,000 gun sales recorded. Properly maintained, those guns will fire like new for decades. All is lost. The combination of paranoia and weapons has led to tragedy again and again.
“Why are we willing to live with this carnage?” President Biden asked the nation on Tuesday. BECAUSE WE ARE OVERRIDDEN WITH DELUSIONAL MAGA WHITE EVANGELICAL REPUBLICAN-VOTING GUN-WORSHIPERS! That’s why!
The GOP counts on our exhaustion from gun tragedy upon gun tragedy to paralyze us into doing nothing about the fact they are the party of mass murder for profit-all for a few more votes from deranged white evangelical males, and a few more dollars from the NRA.
Am I the only American after the gun massacres in Buffalo and the school shooting in Uvalde who has spent these days gripped by overwhelming grief, exhaustion and fury at the TOTAL inability of the US government to counter the NRA/Gun Lobby/Republicans and PROTECT LIFE?
