Pete Buttigieg has nothing to repent for. Donald Trump does.

June 2, 20194 commentsFrank Schaeffer

ICYMI – I was on AM Joy on MSNBC this morning with the great Johnathan Capehart discussing Franklin Graham’s and Evangelicals’ denouncement of the genuine Christianity of people like Mayor Pete Buttigieg, while hypocritically promoting Trump’s twisted version of American Evangelical Theocracy.

After years of a hateful lunatic in the presidency, how do we make our way back into love, beauty and creation? Discover my book Letter to Lucy: A Manifesto of Creative Redemption—In the Age of Trump, Fascism and Lies, a multi-touch book about art, love and parenting, from the fall of the Byzantine Empire to the prophetic music of Green Day and everything in between. Read the first chapter for free on your kindle fire or iOS device. Available now on Apple Books and Amazon Kindle Fire.

Caught between the beauty of his grandchildren and grief over a friend’s death, Frank Schaeffer finds himself simultaneously believing and not believing in God—an atheist who prays. Schaeffer wrestles with faith and disbelief, sharing his innermost thoughts with a lyricism that only great writers of literary nonfiction achieve. Schaeffer writes as an imperfect son, husband and grandfather whose love for his family, art and life trumps the ugly theologies of an angry God and the atheist vision of a cold, meaningless universe. Schaeffer writes that only when we abandon our hunt for certainty do we become free to create beauty, give love and find peace. Available now at Amazon.

Continuing to follow you and your determination to make a difference by speaking
Truth. You have an audience now…..go tell it!!
This president man is scary but the Franklin Graham person really scares me because he’s using his Dad’s name and reputation while His audience is drinking the Kool aid . As i’ve written before, There are good people within those masses, but unfortunately these people are not only listening to him but to many Church leaders whose interpretation of scripture gives power to men using the “Wives Submit” stuff as a club (among other weapons).
Regarding the abortion issue, it is My hope, the younger generation of women use their voices and votes. Pat

LOVED your comments on AM JOY! Was a avid reader of both F & E Schaeffer 30 plus years ago…but have been ‘wandering in the wilderness’ these last years as E.Christianity seems to have become something I no longer recognize. Lost my dearest friend and sister in Christ during the Obama years since she saw him as an apostate after his association w’his original Pastor (whose name I have now forgotten)! Her names for Obama are ones I now refer to current POTUS as (Fascist, etc.) Simply do not understand those who stand behind this representive of our Ctry!!!!! Looking for ward to reading new book!

Thank you for your clear delineation of the cult Foxangelicalism.
And you will notice many Brits on the streets protesting Royals meeting Fascists.
The Bishop of Liverpool speaks for many.
