It seems fantastical that a 37-year-old openly gay mayor from South Bend can even be in this conversation until you look at who he is. Then the question becomes: How could any sane Democrat vote for anyone other than Buttigieg?
Ironically it is the youngest candidate that’s considering the long term needs on structural change needed to make anything at all actually change from Green New Deal, to background checks to Medicare for all. And Buttigieg can win! He’s a Democratic hopeful that was elected mayor in a RED a state carried by Trump. Central to his message is the case that he knows how to appeal to Republican voters. And he is progressive too. What’s not to love?
