From now on let’s use the words ‘Fake Christianity’ and ‘Fake Christians’ to describe the Evangelicals who submit to the leadership of someone like Trump in order to quench their thirst for power. The similarities between what we are going through now and how the Germans surrendered their democracy to Adolph Hitler shouldn’t be understated. Sadly in both cases Christian churches and evangelicals took the lead in bowing to hate, terror and lies. There is still some hope that the good of Christianity (the kindness, the understanding, the force of love and forgiveness) can find its way through the darkness of these dark Trump days and maybe be a part of bringing back sanity to our politics and our lives. Vote BLUE for Christ’s sake! If you want to enjoy the pleasure of anger (because it is pleasure) by supporting a loathsome man like Trump, then go ahead, but don’t trash Christianity by saying you are doing it as a Christian.
