If you saw my most recent video, you already know that my good friend Samir Selmanović, the Executive Director of Common Good Christians, invited me to speak this week at San Juans Summit, a gathering of progressive Christians who want to reclaim their faith from the grip of the hypocritical right (if you haven’t watched my video with Samir, please take a few minutes to listen to his story). While there, I met a lot of wonderful people who are doing really amazing work. One of those people is the Writer, Pastor, and Activist John Pavlovitz. John is the author of the best-seller “A Bigger Table” as well as the upcoming “Hope and Other Superpowers: A Life-Affirming, Love-Defending, Butt-Kicking, World-Saving Manifesto.” John’s message is simple but powerful, and I was glad to spend time with him and hear his vision for a way forward.

Dear Frank Schaeffer:
Does Christ have a heart for exiled Palestinians?
Does Christ have a heart for public school teachers?
Does Christ have a heart for rail workers in France or air traffic controllers in America where safety is an issue in each case because of grueling hours and unsafe practices?
Does Christ truly have a heart for anyone outside the privileged petty bourgeoisie next 9% after the 1%?
Do you?
Does John?
Do Christians?
What will you say for any them?
What have you said?
Pentecost blessings!
I believe the emergence of Trump is a very strong indication we are in the last days. I have never seen anything like this in my life.
Dear Readers of this Blog and Concerned Citizens,
Migrant children are being separated from their parents and warehoused by the US Government at our borders or in detention centers. Over 1,500 such children have been reportedly misplaced and can’t be located by Child Protective Services. Rep. Jeff Merkley was denied entry into one migrant detention facility where he claimed he “saw kids caged in … Police were called on us,” Please write and call your elected local officials and demand accountability for these defenseless children. This is an absolute disgrace and mounting tragedy happening right under our noses and on our watch. Please contribute whatever you can to those organizations trying to help these precious young lives. Thank you. The revolution will be televised.
