Trump isn’t the disease; he’s the symptom- of everything from the rise of evangelical fanatics to Fox News as the propaganda organ of the Republican Party, to the takeover of the national news distribution system by idiot kid libertarians of Silicon Valley’s greed-driven monopolies.
Trump’s cabinet believe he is not mentally fit and anyone reduced to Tweeting “I’m a genius” may be wearying of his self-made chaos. That’s not great cause for joy, but I’ll take what I can get.
Trump’s 1st year in office confirmed he’s a megalomaniac with authoritarian ambitions. That was nothing! Trump’s second year opens with the realization that Trump’s only remaining strategy for political and legal survival is his criminal willingness to discredit the Rule of Law.
Trump is not just talking about prosecuting journalists. He is taking legal steps to silence them. On Thursday, a White House attorney sent a (failed but nevertheless scary) cease-and-desist letter to publishing company Henry Holt. Trump is our Putin.
Trump’s political survival depends on neutralizing any institution that challenges his power… including the Rule of Law itself.
Will the GOP go along? You bet. Thus in 2018 they must not merely be beaten, but destroyed for the sake of everything every sane decent American loves.

>> The psychiatrist who briefed Congress on Trump’s mental state: this is “an emergency” <<

Frank had a unique opportunity to help the Democrats.
But by acting like an arrogant hater and spilling bile and vile language at the opposition, he is doing as much harm as good for his own cause.
As to the so called Psychiatrists giving their opinions, have any of them actually met Trump and talked to him in person?
Without a least some personal contact, such a diagnosis is not credible, even by the standards of the APA.
The DSM-5 – Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders of which you might be familiar, lists the criteria for diagnosing Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD). If you review this and also read Hare’s Psychopathology “checklist,” along with an abundant amount of literature on NPD and other mental disorders that is out there, you’ll find that Trump nails ALL the criteria for NPD with some overlap into other disorders as well. Whether you are a professional who historically has been restrained by the “Goldwater Rule,” or just a layman, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to “connect the dots” and end up with a pretty accurate assessment that basically says, Trump has some serious personality and mental issues. If it has gills, spends it’s life swimming underwater in the ocean, there’s a good chance it’s a “marine organism” of some type. Don’t you think it might be time for all of us to stop deluding ourselves about the “stability” of the person who has the potential to end civilization. Even though he assures us that he is a “Stable Genius,” I for one do not at all feel that he is.
… not to mention an overwhelming number of psychiatrists and psychologists nation , Canada and worldwide agreeing both in spirit as well as writing with Hare’s findings
But to rephrase your last comment in the ole New England vernacular
” If it walks like a duck … talks like a duck … and looks like a duck … it more than likely is a duck . Now it might be a coot mind you .. but its most likely a duck ”
And the Donald ? Well … suffice it to say being a former New Yorker myself …. he’s been a’ duck ‘ since his emergence into the public eye in the 70’s …. as was his father .. Fred( the slumlord) Trump before him
The only thing truly lacking credibility is a sock puppet troll such as yourself pretending to be an intelligent adult when in fact all you’re doing is Cut & Pasting the alt right social media rhetoric verbatim directly off the script word for word … along with regurgitating the Bryson accusations with ever so slight a variation .. which is fooling no one but yourself
Seriously. Is anyone that shocked about this situation? I mean we haven’t had a government for the people in a very long time if ever? Probably not. All you have to do is look into the real history of the civil war to be convinced. Trump is crazy. That’s been obvious. The deal is like this. He actually probably represents a pretty good size chunk of the flailing enterprise called The U.S. I hope it’s not a majority but all you have to do is look around you to see that our beloved America is in essence mentally ill as a group. I know people get angry because I have commentary with no concrete plans or designs about how to fix it. I don’t believe Jesus is going to come fix it but I almost commiserate with the Jesus people because it looks like it would take a miracle in order to get us on track. I personally still believe in miracles so maybe it’s a matter of a lot of smaller miracles that are quite possibly in the works as we speak.
Tara
Tara… That someone like Drumph is our president makes it clear that tere is no doubt that our beloved America is in essence mentally ill.
As for having no commentary on solutions… It is said that knowing you have a problem is 80% of solving it. And on that note… Here are a few quotes on the “solving” part.
“If 80 Percent of Success Is Showing Up Then 20 Percent Is Following through.”
“If a problem has no solution, it may not be a problem, but a fact – not to be solved, but to be coped with over time.”
“Understanding the problem is half of the solution.”
“The solution to the problem might just be your attitude.”
One doesn’t have to be a mental health professional to sense something is terribly wrong with President Trump’s character and fitness to be President of these United States. And his public policies are even worse.
Fine comment Joelyn, I love your name.
Tara
Thank you, M. I’ve been bragging about my new friend Margarita. I’d love to come up to NY to meet you sometime. When is that march again? I don’t have a pussy hat. I’m a brass helmet with wings kind of gal. You can always message me on twitter 😉
Tara
Tara… Here are the details for the Women’s March 2018. If you can make it to NYC, I can put you up in my dancer’s private room at my place for the weekend, where you’ll be safe, comfortable and warm. I am a well known Middle Eastern dancer, which you can easily check out, so you need not worry about me being a weirdo.

Sigh … Marching on NYC ? Where the overwhelming majority hates Trump … never mind being against him ?
Suffice it to say that ‘ preaching to the choir ‘ and a waste to time and effort .
On DC .. or one of Drumpf’s stronghold cities ? Now that’d be worthwhile.. though in reality we need to go beyond Women etc marches and get into the trenches with overall marches against Drumpf and Co .
But NYC ? Sigh … its real obvious no one thought that one out thoroughly now … did they
History … read it ,,, and learn something from it !
TJ… For one who advocates that all politics are local, why now your disdain for my marching in my own neck of the woods?
What my reply should say is that if I have to explain … you’ll never understand ..becaue in reality you should already know the answer … but in the spirit of conversation and debate
,,, because the march you’re mentioning and linking to is not at all intended as a local march . Thats why . Not to mention the fact that it serves even less a purpose than preaching to the choir does .
TJ… If what you now say about the Women’s March serving no purpose is true, then why did you say in previous threads that you supported it, and even paid for the airfare of a number of people just so that they could attend?
Not only that but when GB wrote to me on December 22, 2017 10:52 pm about the march: “No, I don’t mind. So the march is to support “women’s rights”? What are women’s rights? And why do you think a march will get you what you want?”
You replied with: “Ahhh … if experience and history is any indication …. first off it’ll put the likes of you back under the rock from whence you came .. with your bromance fantasies Trump . Bannon , Pence and Moore soon to follow…”
https://frankschaefferblog.com/2017/12/trump-just-moved-from-mere-mob-ties-to-becoming-an-actual-crime-boss-and-self-dealing-thief/
As for purpose, Drumph can only be president for so long, and should he survive his presidency and also retain his freedom (as in not being incarcerated), then the message to him is that should he return to NYC where as you correcty stated “the overwhelming majority hates Trump … never mind being against him,” he will then become a prisoner in his own tower.
” also retain his freedom (as in not being incarcerated), then the message to him is that should he return to NYC where as you correcty stated “the overwhelming majority hates Trump … never mind being against him,” he will then become a prisoner in his own tower”
As for this . Honestly …. do you really believe for a minute that should Drumpf walk away scot free that this march in his own backyard where not only does he know he is hated and despised .. but where his very home ( Trump Tower ) is bankrupt on the verge of repossession … like the rest of his and his son in law and daughters businesses …
… will have the slightest effect on him ?
And outside the powers that be in NYC and NY in general … do you really think you have the power to hold such a threat over Drumpf’s head ?
Suffice it to say … if you knew Trump ( and his father ) like I do/did … you’d know damn full well the answer is an adamant and absolute …
NO
Fact is … the only thing the likes of Drumpf understand … is when there is an equal or bigger bully in the room than he is…. not marches and protests
Ms Abadie ;
Are you gradually becoming as dense as GB ? Or are you simply making the mistake of reading INTO my comment … rather than reading what my comment actually says ???
Or worse perhaps … committing the ultimate debate/discussion sin of over generalization ?
Sigh …For your edification / information and … to be clear …. my comment today was not intended to be a reflection of my opinions of the DC Women’s march … nor was there ANY negative implications or connotations within my todays comment towards the DC march …. which as a reminder I helped financially support . ..
…but rather is intended solely as a specific critique of this SPECIFIC latest NYC effort … which in my opinion has all the potential effectiveness of preaching to the choir ( as stated previously )
So don’t go making asinine assumptions when it comes to my comments nor start using your anti GB Cut & Paste strategies with me Ms Abadie .
But more importantly … READ FIRST & then TWICE …. and then comment ONCE … lest ye wind up stuffing thy dancing foot down thy throat
I don’t know TJ… But I’m thinking that at this point it is you who should perhaps read first, then twice, and perhaps not comment at all. But whatever! What I don’t get is why marching on DC is OK but it’s not OK to do so in NYC? Are you saying that the conservative estimate of 500,000 folks that marched in NYC last year didn’t add to the overall numbers making The Women’s March the largest single-day demonstration in recorded U.S. history; with the only potential competitors being the Vietnam War Moratorium days in 1969 and 1970, which boasted millions of participants worldwide?
As for using my cut-&-paste strategies with you… Don’t tempt me! You are neither my boss nor master and as such have absolutely no authority let alone power by which to control what I do or say.
” But whatever! What I don’t get is why marching on DC is OK but it’s not OK to do so in NYC? ”
Once again you’re READING INTO my comment making false (ass)umptions along with over generalizations rather than reading what I’m writing .
I never said the NYC 2018 march was not OK . What I said … excessively clearly I might add .. was that it has all the potential effectiveness of preaching to the choir … which is … NONE .
And if you do not comprehend why .. then truly your grasp of reality when it comes to the potential effectiveness of any given protest is lacking at best …. and its just worth the time trying to explain it to you
( this coming from one with more protest experience than yourself )
In as far as your last comment Ms Abaide
” You are neither my boss nor master and as such have absolutely no authority let alone power by which to control what I do or say ”
Suffice it to say … either respect is a mutual give and take or it does not exist at all .
And so far other than being a bit politically incorrect and a tad bit harsh on one or two occasions … all of which were both justified as well as well warranted I might add … I hav granted you the ultimate respect … along with coming alongside you when things got hot with your conflicts with GB etc .. repeatedly … despite your lack of age as well as education etc .
And … may I remind … as per the words and commands of the late great lady herself .. Maya Angelou .. my age and superior position both educationally as well as intellectually does grant me a certain level of well earned authority ( as well as respect ) over one a good decade younger and lesser educated than I such as yourself
In conclusion Ms Abadie … if you want respect from others … then start acting and behaving your age rather than your shoe size … because in all honesty that last comment of yours was barely worthy of an 16 year old … never mind a mature woman claiming to be middle age .
Dr TJ Martin PhD
… and on that last note /reply this discussion is over .
The ball is now in your court as to how events here will shape up in the future in as far as my future participation as well as my responses and dealings with you .
Oh My! Did I get under your skin or something TJ Martin? If that is really your real name, being that there are no online articles that you have claimed to have authored under such name anywhere Online.
As for the effectiveness of protesting in NYC, and to answer your previous question: “Honestly …. do you really believe for a minute that should Drumpf walk away scot free that this march in his own backyard where not only does he know he is hated and despised … will have the slightest effect on him?
Yes, it will! While you may know him your way, I do too. Making for the one thing I think that we can both agree on is that he is a malignant narcissist. As such, and being that he is also so incredibly obsessed with numbers, he is especially vulnerable to being publicly ridiculed en mass, particularly in a such an iconic city such as NYC to which he has such a huge and lifelong attachment too.
If you watch Frontline Donal Trump documentary and listen to Michael D’Antonio who wrote “The Truth About Trump,” where he says that Drumph dreads humiliation as much as he dreads being shamed, I am sure that even you could gauge the effects of him being humiliated in his own hometown will no doubt largely contribute to produce what is known as “narcissistic rage.” A condition that can be excessively disruptive and debilitating to his overinflated ego, and is thereby hardly preaching to the choir as you claim.
As for being respectful, while you have been attacking and being highly condescending and rude to everyone who has been posting to this blog these days … I have yet to disrespect you. Indeed, I am so certain about this, that should you disagree, I would then challenge you to show me exactly when, where, and how have I been disrespectful towards you.
As for your alleged “superior” position both educationally as well as intellectually granting you a certain level of well-earned authority ( as well as respect ) over one a good decade younger and lesser educated than you such as myself… I’m like: Oh Boy! Does THAT come off as pompous and way over-inflated!
Not sure who you “think” you are… But the fact remains that you don’t know me, have absolutely no idea about how old I may or may not be, what my life experiences with protesting and political action may or may not have been, what level or education I may or may not have, or even how many languages I may or may not speak.
In conclusion TJ, and being that I don’t care one way or another whether you respect me or don’t… If you want my respect, then may I suggest that you stop attacking me with your derogatory insults and innuendoes … an absolute exercise in futility on your part … All because I have made friends with Tara, and don’t agree with everything you say.
As for the ball now being in my court as to how events here will shape up in the future in as far as your future participation… Please don’t flater yourself by believing that I care about your opinion of me. Because you are nothing to me other than an online presence in a virtual world that has no bearing whatsoever in my life. As in, had I wanted your friendship, I would have asked for it. Which may I remind you… I have not.
As for the Frontline documentary which shows Drumph’s attachment to NYC calling it “his” city, and even saying that he could own “this town” here is the link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9NRgb209jk
Trust me, I know what will press people’s buttons. And the fact that he is so hated and despised in NYC, the city that he has always wanted to own, has got to press his buttons.
Anger, rage, and rejection (being everybody’s Achilles heel), is decidedly the way to play him against himself. Especially being that he is such a megalomaniacal narcissist, he simply doesn’t have the capacity to control it. As such, the more that we the people can rub it in and provoke him, the more it is going to get to him. So much so, that sooner rather than later, his apoplectic angst will push him past the point of no return, and consume him in such a manner that it will cost him everything!
Tara
Do now we need to as a sane people get up and vote for the dems…
From Frank,s book from chapter one:
“I wonder how the outcome of the 2016 election might have differed if for the last forty years Hillary had been reading a Times religion section that gave proper weight to religion and its consequences. For instance, what if she had understood the true destruction of the social contract wrought by Roe v. Wade? What if she had been reading about a new and growing generation of educated young women joining the pro-life movement, who could not be written off as either anti-feminist or old white men, let alone as an ignorant underclass?

I’ll have to buy it from amazon. I have trouble reading stuff on the phone. I will do it because I can’t read all that other stuff and the only books I have right now are Jefferson’s biography and Are You There Vodka? It’s Me Chelsea
Thank you
T
Nine,
What does it mean? A violation of the social contract. I don’t decry abortion but I couldn’t do it even though I knew I wasn’t fit to raise a child. I couldn’t give him away either. Nevermind if you don’t have an answer.
Tara
Sadly Franks’ book is only available for your device on iTunes .. sadly because a) I/we do no online purchases and b) because like yourself I hate reading anything longer than a page or two on a digital screen … preferring good ole paper … hands down
In as far as violating the social contract issue . Methinks … and I am assuming here as I am not Frank and do not ( as the sock puppets accuse me of ) live in his mind … that what Frank means is perhaps Hillary went a little too overboard on a contentious issue that in reality will never be reversed … because both sides despite all the rhetoric realize the minute a teen mother died having an illegal abortion … the party that made it illegal would never see an election victory again .. for years if not decades ..
e.g A little more discretion on her part could of gone a long way towards her winning … rather than us being stuck with the Drumpf
” Do now we need to as a sane people get up and vote for the dems…”
In a word Nine … YES !
Cause though they’re far from perfect … the DNC having morphed into NeoLiberalism * years ago … they are by far since the GOP has sold its soul to the neo-fascist alt right …
… the lesser of two evils .
Which is always preferable to the greater of two evils … when one is thinking in a mature , rational ethical , moral and intelligent manner
* https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neoliberalism
Nine- I’m a four decade GOP voter who ditched the GOP with the rise of trump chump, and I’ll never vote for them again as long as they, in Bret Stephens words( Conservative WSJ and NY Times columnist) continue to be the party of :”Character Doesn’t Count” with a de facto motto. “Virtue Doesn’t Matter”.
I have always been pro -choice, as are almost all the women I know. Trump’s and the GOP’s sudden insistence on rolling back abortion rights was just One of the reason’s that I could never vote for them again .
Here in NJ, 71% of people polled are pro-choice, as opposed to 29% who are pro- birth. Mrs Clinton does represent the views of the majority. Abortion is not an issue that I am willing to compromise on.
Hi Dolores,
I think he said that the deal was that this Trump card deal needs to make republicans vote for Democrats. I voted for Hilary but I hated doing it because she was goading Russia. Maybe, something good will come of this Trump situation.
Tara
I find it curious that you think goading Russia to be such a contentious issue .
Do you not realize that Russia has NEVER been our friend or ally … and that its about damn time we as a nation call Russia and specifically Vlad the Impaler out on the carpet ?
Suffice it to say in regards to Russia .. if you think your childish albeit harmless goddess fantasies discredits you entirely here in the US … try saying the things you do in Russia… where guaranteed you’d wind up in either an asylum … jail … or more than likely ( at the hands of ROC radicals ) … dead
( ROC = Russian Orthodox Catholics …who by the way now make our fundamentalist /evangelical christofacists look like the pinnacle of egalitarianism and tolerance in comparison )
Well then… Lucky for Tara then that she does not live in Russia, where people aren’t free to be themselves.
My point exactly Ms Abadie !
I’m aware of the gay plight in Russia and I DO NOT APPRECIATE OR APPROVE of Putin and those methods. I apologize if I came off like one who is ignorant but I don’t like war. That’s a huge pet peeve of I’m sorry if I offended anyone.
No offense taken by me, my reasons being that goading Putin can be just as dangerous as goading Kim Jong Un, in that ultimately it is the people under their domination that suffer.
Suffice it to say Dolores you held on to the GOP a helluva a lot longer than I/we did . My/our exit began when the GOP forced McCain aside ( complete with threats to end John’s political career ) in favor of the American Idiot ( GWB )
Was strengthened after the whole Golf War debacle along with watching the Evangelical churches of which I was a part of follow in lock step with GWB and his Gang of Four … with the evangelical church gradually coming on board the fundamentalist christofascist train
Falling into the abyss when the GOP forced Sarah Palin onto McCain’s ticket ( with the GOP once again threatening to end McCain’s career if he did not accept her )
And then finalized when the GOP sold its soul lock stock and barrel to the neo – fascist alt right by allowing Trump to run as an ‘ R’
As for pro choice … though at its core I find abortion to be repugnant and immoral .. I also see it as the lesser of two evils . Because making it illegal would bring back the back alley illegal abortion days which more often then not killed both the mother and the fetus
Dear Frank Schaeffer:
Been trying for days to post, but can’t. If this works, no one will be more surprised than me…
Trump is the symptom of another disease and Christagelical Evanjihadists are a secondary complication. At issue is corruption and utter inability of the ruling class to offer a single, political solution to any of America’s many crises.
Nothing in Wolff’s book comes as a shock, nor is Trump distinguished from thousands more American CEOs. The media-generated furor continues the Democrat Party efforts to engineer a palace coup and remove the con-man through intrigue, scandal-mongering, and now mental unsuitability.
This campaign is but the latest attempt by Trump’s ruling class opponents to hijack growing working class opposition and divert it into harmless channels. Democrats refuse to raise any issues with working class resonance – opposition to war, domestic repression, social inequality, etc.
Trump’s erratic and provocative behavior and less than ferocious opposition to Russia undermines the world position of US imperialism. That’s why criticisms of Trump aim to undercut his support within the state, the political establishment, and Wall Street. That’s why they want him gone.
Democrats have plans in waiting for nation-wide demonstrations if Trump fires Mueller. They made no such efforts to oppose the massively unpopular tax bonanza for wealthy corporations, or to rally opposition to Muslim/refugee bans, or persecution of immigrants or his cozying with the fascistic alt-right, or his threats of nuclear war on North Korea.
There isn’t one shred of democratic or progressive content to the political campaign to displace Trump. This campaign will contribute nothing to working class mobilization or political education. The Democrat Party wants no working class intervention, and its efforts intend to block any independent movement that would threaten the two-party duopoly.
Epiphany blessings!
What truly amazes me gdd is that … on one hand you repeatedly ad nauseam claim to be so concerned about the well being and needs of the working class opposition .. of which you know nothing about ..
.. while on the other adhering to a fictitious liturgical year created around two completely fictitious holidays ( christmas and easter * ) both of which were created by a very bourgeoisie church between the 4th and 6th century … for the sole purpose of keeping the ‘ working class ‘ subservient to the popes and kings of the era by distracting them from how many ways the church was ripping them blind
Seems to me gdd y’alls got yerself a bad case o’ the logical inconsistencies going on … not to mention being deeply imbedded within the volitional hell of hypocrisy .
[ * the early church neither recognized nor felt the need to celebrate Christ’s birth .. which FYI was not on 12/25 … nor His resurrection .. ( In fact the early church was extremely disdainful of creating any special religious holidays due to the Scriptural mandates prohibiting them )… With both holidays later created in the 4th century by the Roman church … with the liturgical year surrounding them later created in the 6th century ]
But then again … your being such an obvious pseudo intellectual … as well the very definition of insanity ( repeating or doing the same thing endlessly over and over again constantly hoping for a different result ) …
…..perhaps it shouldn’t amaze me … in the slightest .
PS; In future when addressing someone of my status and education you might want to accurately ( rather than using your own misinterpretations ) refer to the Westminster CONFESSIONS .. rather than the catechism for the masses … when attempting to levy criticism and condemnation against one such as myself . Fact is .. lets go deeper .. with the 1200 page plus notes transcribed from the meetings that created the Westminster Confessions … which yes I have in my possession and have read cover to cover several times over
And ahh … FYI … in light of your obsessive digital stalking me … how is it gdd that you’ve managed to miss out on the fact that I and my wife as of four years ago became ,,,, NONE’s … as in we attend no church what so ever which I have repeatedly made claims to .. never mind (ass)usming that I’m in any way a part of the Presbyterian community ?
As for your ‘ so called ‘ concerns … suffice it to say those deeply imbedded within the Reformation community are not only aware of my activities here as well as in the real world …. but are in full support of them as well .
Take me up on my face to face challenge and I’ll gladly to introduce you to them .
Dear TJ Martin:
Someone of your status and education?
I certainly don’t move in such circles but traveling over the years, I chanced on two occasions to cross paths with a member of the House of Hanover. On neither occasion did I witness such self-awareness or narcissistic grandiosity.
Status indeed!
Epiphany blessings!
Tara,
Pryor to the rise of the religious right was the anti abortion movement spearheaded by Frank’s father Francis as all evangelical leaders were pro choice and Roe was that grand cause of division in America that our dear Frank wants absolution from as he grasped the bigger picture and had the courage to leave the movement.
If you fail to understand this you fail to understand America!

A cheap way to get Frank’s book on to your big tv is a device called Apple TV about 180 dollars.
Cheaper still is an HDMI cable from a few bucks depending on its length along with an iPhone adapter “lighting to HDMI” to your iPhone providing a perfect HD connection!
Really the way to see the artwork from Frank’s work is on a big screen tv!

Dear TJ Martin:
Your ‘meet me’ campaign will go nowhere. You look a bit too much like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sG7rvOsE2ws
At least with Caligula, you knew you would face a ghastly death, but all the effusive praise and then out of earshot alarm bells are nothing but gutlesss leeches who took an oath to the rule of law with their fingers crossed behind their backs, thinking it will be ok, we’ll get our tax cut and let the next president mop up. There’s hardly a downside to stating the obvious about Trump’s behavior and decorum. It’s past time they demanded he act like a president or at least an adult. But it looks like they will play along as long until disaster.
