In Calvinism, the theological cult of an angry God in which I was raised, humans are created by a God who like Trump, has determined to give them only the illusion of free will. And this God never intends to save them all or even most of them. Most are mere pawns to fuel his fires of hell for eternity– the Calvinists love to quote St. Paul, who calls them “vessels of wrath”. Trump seems to worship no one but himself. But the angry selfish God of Calvin is waiting for him if Trump ever wants a god created in his own image.
As we watch Trump abuse and debase the office of president we see a spiritual problem unfolding: the loss of the American soul. Please watch and share my 6 minute video answer to Trump’s “method.” The issue before us is: will we allow greed to destroy love?

.One of your very best videos, Frank! MANY thanks for telling the truth! Trump and those who are supporting him —- often as a messiah figure —- are normalizing psychopathy which is the lack of empathy for others and for nature. Thank you for pointing out that bonding, teaching & supporting others, nurturing, empathy, love, is part of being human —- one does not need to be an evangelical fundamentalist as some believe —- empathy IS what makes us human but nurturing is also a trait of all mammals —- even rats! In 2012 the “DOJ FBI Bulletin for Law Enforcement: Psychopathy” boiled down all of the latest research to this foundational trait of psychopathy —- lack of empathy. Evangelicals are being led astray because they do not know the ancient roots of their religion stretch back to a tribal war god as Elaine Pagels has pointed out [Exodus 15:3] who is psychopathic. [Who else would sacrifice his own son to ameliorate his own narcissism?] It should not surprise anyone when evangelicals are manipulated into following modern authoritarian war gods —- which are sitting on both sides of the political aisle. For those of us who’ve been able to extricate ourselves and recover, the challenge is “how do we help them escape the brainwashing?” “How do we help them get into reality?” given no one who has been brainwashed knows that they have been brainwashed. David Sliverman is correct, fundamentalists are victims and I would add they are in the process of enabling massive victimization of our country and planet —- all in the name of “GOD” as you are eloquently pointing out! Thanks, Diana
Great thoughts. Even Paul in 1 Corinthians said that if you have faith to move mountains and have not love, it is NOTHING! Love needs to trumph (like you, no pun intended) everything. For me, it’s loving God, loving my family, loving others, etc. But if our motive for doing something is anything else besides love, we need to learn to love!
trump; not trumph.
Wait a minute….Why is there an ad for Franklin Graham on your blog? I can’t imagine he is one your advertisers…that would be stranger than fiction.
