I thought I was spiritually and ideologically alone. Now, I see that Imay not be. Thank you for your appearance on AM Joy and for writing…looking forward to experiencing the ‘Letter to Lucy’.
I cannot wait to read your new book. I too have been profoundly affected by the “fundamentalist” myth. I am grateful for your determination and tenacity as you keep the message going. My late husband a Wheaton Grad and an evangelical pastor served many churches from the 60s through 2008. His last years were served in Lutheran churches, which were much less conservative. Before he passed he had the opportunity to meet you . After returning home, he said to me “Pat, I am not alone”. He said while listening to you, he wanted to shout, “Me too……me too.” Keep writing, talking and living your life authentically with purpose and joy! Pat Gillis Ps. I have a friend who grew up evangelical. His dad was the top dog of a parachurch organization. I gifted him “Crazy for God “ and after reading he said “That was me Pat!” (Right down to your polio, his was an accident) This friend and I would like to have opportunity to come where you will be speaking. I live in suburban Philadelphia with easy access to NYC. You gave my husband your Phone # but of course I can’t locate.
